It is a kind of welcome to summer, offering new conditions for comfort and accessibility. The two new underground car parks of Frente Ribeirinha and Anel Verde/Praça D’Armas went into operation on July 1, providing 900 parking spaces, which improves the accessibility to the city’s Historic Centre.
This investment represents an important step in the progress of Lagos. The day-to-day lives of the inhabitants will benefit from a new dynamic, and visitors to the city will now find the improved conditions of comfort that are indispensible, especially in the seasons when the tourist activity is highest, which are marked by increased automobile traffic and the demand for parking.
The companies making up the Consortium in charge of the overall contract works are FDO, Construções, FDO - Projectos, ENSULMECI and Irmãos Cavaco.
This project was born within the scope of a public/private partnership at the municipal level, when in 2008, EL – Estacionamentos de Lagos, S.A., was formed with the object of design, implementation, development, construction, installation, equipping, upkeep and maintenance of car parks in the interest of the Municipality of Lagos.
This company has a minority of public participation in the share capital, in which 51% represents the participation of the selected private consortium (a grouping of the companies FDO, Construções, FDO - Projectos, ENSULMECI and Irmãos Cavaco) and 49% by FUTURLAGOS.
